When I first came to Aligarh 5 years ago, I was keen on finding a suitable school for my children. This is because foundational education for children in their first schooling years is highly important. The type of schooling students receive in their basic and elementary years shapes their minds, manner of thinking, mental ability, strengthens their psychology, and boasts their confidence and self-esteem, or does the opposite. If you sow a seed in the correct manner, the plant will grow strong. May Allah help us raise our children in the best way. I was not aware of Aligarh Islamic School at first. I visited so many other schools. I enrolled my two daughters in one school for one year and in another school in the following year, but I was not satisfied. There were serious drawbacks in both schools such as the lack of pedagogical methods; teachers were harsh with pupils in a manner that was clearly damaging learners’ psychology; teachers depended mainly on memorization without giving importance to understanding, or there was a lack of Islamic education, or even the lack of all these essential components of a good school.
The School has managed to maintain daily online classes. The teachers did their best to respond to students’ enquiries through WhatsApp, and through even phone in some cases. Classes where interactive through many web platforms. Homework was checked in a timely matter and sent back to students. Continuous assessments and exams were conducted regularly.
What I desire for my children is an education that would help them become mature, make them strong personalities, well-educated, combining good world wise knowledge in sciences as well as having good knowledge of the foundation of Islam. I value the type of knowledge that is based on understanding sciences and mathematics rather than mere memorization. As I view teaching Islamic studies in a manner that touches the true, pure meaning and the essence and the necessary fundamentals of our beautiful faith – not just concerned with superficial aspects, trying to implant Islamic values in the hearts and minds of children by practical examples and role modeling rather than mere memorization. This was, and still is, my vision of education that I was searching for a model of before coming to know about Aligarh Islamic School.
In these difficult times of Corona and the circumstances it has implied on all schools and businesses, I could very confidently say that Aligarh Islamic school was up to the mark. It took up its responsibility to the fullest.
I came to know of Aligarh Islamic School through a friend of mine. He spoke highly of the school. I was skeptical at first because of my negative impression of the two schools I had tried so I enrolled only one of my two daughters at first. My daughter spent a very good session that year. Her English improved, both spoken and written. Teachers taught her science in a manner that made her become interested in studying and understand the concepts. The Islamic studies and Quran subjects were taught in a manner that focused on practical understanding and role modelling of the very essential fundamentals of our Islamic beliefs. I was extremely pleased to finally find type of education that I wanted for my children. The following year, I enrolled my second daughter without any hesitation. This was two years ago.

It took up its responsibility to the fullest. Administration and teachers have not left a stone unturned to ensure the sound continuation of the educational process.
